I found out last week that a friend of mine had a tumor and it was cancer. They performed surgery yesterday to remove the tumor and found out it was too large to remove. They started radiation today to try to shrink the tumor so that it can be removed. This woman is the nicest sweetest person I know. She just lost her own sister to cancer just a few months ago. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts.

It is very scary. My life has been touched cancer many times through friends and family who have fought and beat cancer and those that have lost to cancer. I am really hoping that in this case my friend will kick cancers ass!

yes, there are so many illness's that aren't as scarey now as they used to be, but I think cancer can be just as frightening.
Will think of her *hugs*

She will be in my thoughts and mind, as you say ancer is a very scary disease and one that has lost its sharp edge.

Like many people I have lost quite afew family members and friends to it and at the moment I have one friend who I'm not sure will get through it due to the severit of the symptoms.

Blessed be and I hope the tumour shrinks to and operable saize

Found out that she doesn't have colon cancer to that is a positive thing. They are doing bone scans and some other stuff to determine what kind of cancer she has so they know how best to treat it. Hoping to hear some news today. I haven't gone to see her cause she doesn't want any visitors. I hope to see her after she has left the hospital.

We found out that the cancer seems to be localized in the tumor. She is undergoing radiation and the tumor does show signs of shrinkage. So that is a really positive thing. I still wish I could do more but she is in great spirits and ready to put up a fight.
