Has anyone seen this film about the unbelievely sad and moving life of Aileen Wuornos who was (unfairly) named America's first serial killer? From an abusive childhood of prostitution from the age of 13, we roll followed to the damaged adult she has become, where she is sitting by the road with gun in hand intending to kill herself. Then she walks into a bar and falls deeply in love with a girl called Selby. Together they work to beat the stigma of their gay relationship (Selby comes from a deeply religious family) and Aileen tries desperately to get a normal job, but find she can't and falls back into prostitution. One night one of her 'Johns' ties her up, sodomises and rapes her, she manages to escape but not before kiling him with his own gun, thus sealing her fate, all men are evil who seek the services of prostitutes and deserve to die.
It is impossible not towatch this movie and not be acutely moved by a damaged adults life, where she is ultimatley dehumaised by the world and labled a 'monster' but also not to feel moved by her victims, most of whom did nothing wrong.
From the opening credits of her as a little girl dreaming of stardom, to her ultimate betrayal from the one person she trusts the most, this film is not one that is easily forgotten.
